After a great start to the 2011-12 season, the Hollins swim team took their 3-1 record on the road for a meet with Davis & Elkins College. The meet with the Division II Senators was the second time this season that Hollins stepped out of DIII to face an opponent.

On an overcast Saturday afternoon, Hollins hosted Virginia Wesleyan College on the grass of Moody Field. It marked only the second home contest for Hollins, who came in looking for their first ODAC win of the season.

The Hollins University tennis team started the season by being tabbed second in the ODAC preseason poll and on Friday morning they solidified their selection by defeating Bridgewater College in the semifinal round of the 2011 ODAC Women's Tennis Tournament.

The Hollins University basketball team took the court less than 20 hours after winning their home opener when they hosted Warren Wilson College on Saturday afternoon. Hollins was looking to win back to back games for the first time since November 19 and 20, 2004. Hollins shook off a sluggish first minute to go on a 16-0 run during the first five minutes of play. Hollins never looked back en route to a 84-34 victory.
