The Senior Student Athlete Awards reception hosted by the Maroon Club was a success. It was originally held in the Colket Center, but with so many in attendance this year, the event was moved to the Bast Center. With nearly 200 in attendance, the special event celebrated the careers of nearly 60 student-athletes.

NEWPORT NEWS - Roanoke College rallied late in the game to knock off #10 Christopher Newport, 4-1. Roanoke now advances to the regional championship game of the NCAA DIII Softball Tournament. The Maroons improve their record to 32-9 while the Captains will enter the consolation bracket finals with a record of 36-10.

NEWPORT NEWS – Roanoke College defeated #1 Emory University in its second game of the 2012 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament. The Maroons, winners of nine-straight, improve to 31-9 while the Eagles fall to 34-4. The win marks the first time a women's program at Roanoke knocked off the top-ranked team in the country.

NEWPORT NEWS - The Roanoke College softball team was victorious in its first game of the regional round of the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament, defeating Messiah 7-2 on Thursday. The Maroons imporve to 30-9 while the Falcons fall to 35-9 on the season. This marks the 10th 30-win season for the Maroons.

Roanoke College took home several honors as the 2012 All-ODAC Softball Team was announced. Roanoke hurler Kelly Higbie shared ODAC Rookie of the Year honors, as did RC mentor Mike Mitchell with the ODAC Co-Coach of the Year award. Alea Bier was tabbed the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year in a vote of the league's sports information directors.

LYNCHBURG – In a contest that was interrupeted two hours for lightning, the Roanoke College Women's Lacrosse team defeated Lynchburg College, 13-12, in the Old Dominon Athletic Conference (ODAC) Semi-Finals. The Maroons now sit at 11-6, while the Hornets end their season with a record of 11-7.

The Roanoke College Softball team won their eighth Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship on Sunday, defeating Bridgewater College 7-2 in the championship game. The Maroons rise to a record of 29-9 for the season, while the Eagles finish the season with a record of 33-12.
