Orioles Fly Past Mariners 10-2 |

The Bluefield Orioles broke open a one run game by scoring eight runs in the final three innings to down the Pulaski Mariners 10-2 in the first game of a home and home three game series.
Bluefield (5-5) took a lead with a two run home run by Luis Ramirez in the third inning as the Oriole outfielder finished with three hits and RBIs on the evening. Javier Santana also recorded three hits, including a solo home run in the seventh, while Cory Thomas led off the eighth inning with a home run for one of his two hits. Pulaski (2-8) got two hits, including a seventh inning home run from Jarrett Burgess. Tommy Johnson recorded two hits and a run scored. Fredrickson, Virginia native Justin Moore picked up the victory for the Orioles pitching five innings. Former Bluefield College pitcher and Midlothian, Virginia resident Brandon Holloway pitched a perfect ninth for Bluefield. Leonardo Rodriguez threw six strong innings allowing just two runs, while striking out five for Pulaski in a losing effort. The Mariners continue their three game series with the Orioles at Bowen Field in Bluefield Friday night before returning home on Saturday for a 4:00 pm start against the same Orioles to close out the series. Admission is free to the ballpark on July 4th and the Part Time Party Time Band will be performing in the parking lot before the game.
