Friday Night Stars - Week 5

Friday Night Stars will be a regular feature, which will appear every week here at Valley Sports Now. We will take a look at the heroes and other interesting tidbits from the previous Friday night high school football games from around the area.

The entire Blacksburg defense for coming up with some big plays in shutting out Lord Botetourt 11-0 Friday night.

Patrick Henry tallied 541 yards of total offense in its 55-6 win over Patriot High School.

Fort Chiswell recorded 520 yards rushing in its 45-21 win over Floyd County.

East Mont racked up 511 yards of total offense in its 45-7 win against Bland County.

Fort Chiswell’s Daniel Hamm rushed for 325 yards on 21 carries and five TDs in leading the Pioneers to a 45-21 win over Floyd County.

Patrick Henry’s Xavier Whorley rushed for 205 yards on 18 carries and two TDs in the Patriots 55-6 win against Patriot.

Carroll County’s Connor Lundy completed 16-of-34 passes for 277 yards and a TD in the Cav’s 45-20 loss to Grayson County.

East Mont’s James Fields completed 14-of-20 passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns, as the Mustangs defeated Bland County 45-7.

Floyd County’s Luke Harris ran for 267 yards on 31 carries and a TD in the Buffaloes 45-21 loss to Fort Chiswell.

Giles’ Brett Whitlow rushed for 183 yards on nine carries and three TDs in the Spartans 50-30 win over Tazewell.

East Mont’s Daryl Manns rushed for 125 yards on 12 carries and three touchdowns in the Mustangs 45-7 win over Bland County.

Rockbridge’s Porter Abell rushed for 133 yards on 16 carries and a TD in the Wildcats 35-21 loss to Amherst County.

Grayson County’s Max Rogers completed 6-of-10 passes for 166 yards and three TDs in the Blue Devils 45-20 win over Carroll County.

Patrick Henry’s Antwaun Harried ran for 133 yards and three TDs in the Patriots 55-6 win against Patriot.

Staunton River’s DeShawn Martin rushed for 158 yards on 17 carries and four TDs, plus throwing for another one, as the Golden Eagles defeated James River 42-29.

Patrick Henry’s David Prince completed 6-of-6 passes for 119 yards in the Patriots 55-6 win.

James River’s Sherman Austin passed for 156 yards and a trio of TDs in the Knights 42-29 loss to Staunton River.

Grayson County’s John Bilbrey ran for 152 yards on 23 carries and three TDs in the Blue Devils 45-20 win over Carroll County.

Radford’s Hunter Marshall completed 10-of-18 passes for 138 yards and two TDs in the Bobcats 16-14 loss to Virginia High.

East Mont’s Ron Ford caught seven passes for 129 yards and three TDS in the Mustangs 45-7 win over Bland County.

Giles’ Ian Mann rushed for 157 yards on 11 carries and three TDs in the Spartans 50-30 win against Tazewell.

Grayson County’s Mike Rogers hauled in five catches for 147 yards and three TDs in the Blue Devils 45-20 win against Carroll County.

Galax’s Donte Peoples ran for 157 yards on five carries two TDS, as the Maroon Tide topped Craig County 48-23.

Craig County’s Cody Dunbar completed 11-of-19 passes for 181 yards and a TD in the Rockets 48-23 loss to Galax.

Galax’s Steven Peoples ran for 148 yards on 16 carries and three TDs, as the Maroon Tide defeated Craig County 48-23.

Northside’s Dominic Dunnaville ran for 127 yards on 20 carries, as well as completing 5-of-10 passes for another 120 yards in the Vikings 16-14 loss to Salem.

Glenvar’s Levi Mullins completed 13-of-20 passes for 171 yards in the Highlander’s 35-21 win over Covington.

William Fleming’s Etienne Morisseau rushed for 125 yards on 27 carries in the Colonels 14-13 loss to R.J. Reynolds.

William Fleming’s Tyrell Adams completed 11-of-20 passes for 126 yards in the Colonels 14-13 loss to R.J. Reynolds.
