Botetourt turned an early deficit into an 11-4 rout, as they defeated Giles in the opening round of the Dixie Belles All-Star district softball tournament being contested at Veterans Field in Radford Friday night.

Giles would take a 4-1 lead after the opening inning.

Botetourt would then score three runs in both the second and third innings, two in the fifth and once in the sixth and seventh innings to pull away for the 11-4 victory.

Action continues today in the tournament, as Giles meets Blacksburg at 10 a.m. and Botetourt plays Blacksburg at 12:30 p.m.
