The Roanoke Star U13 Girls Elite team traveled to Northern Virginia this past Memorial Day weekend to compete in the 2011 Virginian Cup. The Virginian is a FIFA Sanctioned International Event hosting 600 plus teams each year.
Placed in the top bracket of 35 teams in the U13 age group Roanoke Star went undefeated. Star played five games over the weekend and competed against quality competition from Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, and Maryland.
In the Championship game, Roanoke Star defeated SAC Chaos (MD) 1-0 in a thrilling game.
Over the course of the weekend the girls played an entertaining attacking style of soccer which coupled with their performances led to them winning the tournament
