The Scrappers 16U participated in the 18U ASA Summer Sizzler Tournament in Greensboro, NC on July 23-24. They went 4-0 and were crowned the Champions after they were the only undefeated team left.

The Scrappers 16U team was headed to the championship game in the winners bracket at 4:00 pm until thunderstorms ended the tournament early. The winner of the loser’s bracket would have had to beat the Scrappers 16U team twice. 

For the second straight tournament the team batted exceptionally well and their pitching was magnificent. The Scrappers scored 25 runs in 4 games while only giving up 6. All three pitchers had a combined ERA .820.

The Scrappers 16U is preparing to compete in the ASA Eastern National Championship August 3-7.
