Pulaski denied Princeton of the series sweep Friday night at Calfee Park earning their 14th victory of the year.
M’s starter Charles Kaalekahi threw 5 2/3 giving up seven hits, two walks, no earned runs, and striking out six Princeton batters en route to his third win of the season. After Friday night's performance Kaalekahi moves to 3-2 on nine games started and drops his ERA to 2.27, which is among the Appalachian League’s best. David Holman also put together a successful outing as he earned his fifth save of the year, moving him to fourth in the league.
Offensively for the Mariners Felipe Burin (2-5, 2R), Jordy Lara (2-4, 2B, 2R, RBI), and Tyler Marlette (3-4, RBI) all had multi-hit nights. Princeton’s third baseman Darryl George also had himself a night going 3-4 with 3 RBI’s.
The Mariners travel to Burlington North Carolina today to take on the first place Royals in the first game of a three game series. Pulaski will return to Calfee Park on Tuesday, August 7th, where they will battle the Greenville Astros.
