The Salem Red Sox, Advanced Class-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will donate $3,159 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Roanoke, a non-profit organization that provides mentoring organizations serving children, their families, and communities. Since its inception in 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters operates in all 50 states and 13 countries around the world.

The Salem Red Sox, Advanced Class-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will be hosting Under Armour® Baseball Factory National Tryouts on Sunday, September 25 at 1PM at LewisGale Field.

The Famous Chicken is coming back to Salem on Saturday, August 13, when the Red Sox host the Kinston Indians. “Old Timers” and not so “Old Timers” will remember the Chicken as the famous mascot for the San Diego Padres, other sporting events, and concerts. Currently, the Chicken makes about 250 appearances annually and was named one of the 100 most powerful people in sports for the 20th century by “The Sporting News.”

Dwight Evans, the former Boston Red Sox outfielder, will be featured as the keynote speaker at the third annual Salem red Sox Hot Stove Banquet on Thursday, February 10 at the Salem Civic Center. Evan's 2,505 games played as a member of the Boston Red Sox is second all-time behind Carl Yastrzemski. 

Sign up today for a bus trip to see the Salem Red Sox take on the Winston-Salem Dash on Tuesday, August 17th. The bus will leave Salem at 4:15PM from Lewis-Gale Field and make the trip to the brand new BB&T ballpark in Winston-Salem.

The Adult/Child Camp is a chance for children and an adult (parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, etc.) to learn baseball skills and drills to take home together.  Great way to wrap up a fun summer with your child before school is back in session!!

Salem, VA - Due to tents occupying Salem Memorial Ballpark's main parking for the Horse Show this week, fans that attend Salem Red Sox games through Sunday, June 20 are encouraged to park in the Salem Civic Center parking lot.

The Salem Red Sox will participate in Boston's fifth annual Futures at Fenway presented by Comcast on Saturday, July 10. 2010 will be Salem's first year participating in the event and will take on the Potomac Nationals at "America's Most Beloved Ballpark."
