All Blacksburg Parks and Recreation youth basketball games for Saturday, January 26 have been cancelled due to weather conditions.

The Blacksburg Parks and Recreation Department's main office, Aquatic Center, and Community Center will close at 3 pm today, Thursday, January 17, due to the pending bad weather. All recreation programs scheduled after 3 pm will be cancelled for today.

Swim lessons at the Blacksburg Aquatic Center begin next week, but it’s not too late to sign up! Classes available for ages 6 months to adults in our American Red Cross Learn to Swim program.

Blacksburg Parks and Recreation will be offering a Basketball Camp. There will be two separate camps one on Tuesdays beginning June 5 and one on Thursdays beginning June 9 and lasting thru August 9 at Kipps Gym from 6-8pm.

The Blacksburg Aquatic Center will be offering American Red Cross Lifeguard Training April 23 - May 4. The class will meet from 6-9 pm every Monday - Friday. Per American Red Cross guidelines, participation in each class is mandatory. There will be no makeup classes for missed classes. Participants must be 15 years of age or older.

All are welcome to come and try out Jazzercise classes for FREE during a two-day open house on Thursday, January 26 at 5:30 pm and Friday, January 27 at 4:30 pm at the Blacksburg Community Center, 725 Patrick Henry Drive.

“Get Into Golf” is a program designed to introduce new golfers to the game and is being sponsored by the Blacksburg Parks and Recreation Department.  We hope to equip you with the tools you will need to actually play a round of golf at a golf course.  We provide instruction in small group settings, to make it more fun, less intimidating, and less expensive than private lessons.  We’ll have separate sessions for women, men and juniors.

The Blacksburg Community Center and Aquatic Center will be closing at 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 16 due to inclement weather. All programs and activities scheduled after 1:30 pm have been cancelled.
