START SMART BASEBALL
The Start Smart Baseball program teaches the basic motor skills necessary to play organized teeball, baseball and softball while participants work one-on-one with their parents. The program focuses on such skills as throwing, catching, batting, running and agility without the threat of competition of the fear of getting hurt. This program will take place on a weeknight to be determined at Auburn Elementary School.
MCPR CO-ED TEEBALL
Teeball is a timeless classic; the sport develops the primary skills of hitting, running, fielding and throwing. Teeball players will gain an understanding of the fundamental rules of baseball and softball. Participants’ age as of May 1 will determine division placement. Season starts in April and runs through early June. Practice locations are still to be determined but games will be held at Motor Mile Park.
MCPR COACH-PITCH
Coach-Pitch Baseball and Coach-Pitch Softball stress individual skill development and game understanding in a relaxed and recreational atmosphere. Coach-Pitch seasons consist of teams from area New River Valley recreation departments to form a true baseball/softball league. Participants’ age as of May 1 will determine division placement. Season starts in April and runs through June. Coach-Pitch Baseball games will be held at Plum Creek Park and Coach-Pitch Softball games at Auburn Elementary School.
The registration deadline for Start Smart, Teeball and Coach-Pitch will be on Friday, March 18. Please sign up on time! Late registrations will not be accepted.
