Despite playing two overtimes, a winner still couldn't be determined, as Salem and Lord Botetourt played to a 3-3 tie a non-district boys soccer match Wednesday night in Daleville.

The Cavaliers opened the scoring. The Spartans answered to tie on a goal by Johnny Hughes on an assist from Jack Maxey.  Then Salem went ahead 2-1 on a goal by Chris Cook on an assist from Hughes. This was followed by a second goal from Hughes on an assist from Jack Maxey to make the score 3-1 Salem.  Lord Botetourt then scored two more goals to even the score at 3-3 at the half. 

Neither team would score in the second half or the two five-minute overtime periods.

Johnny Hughes led Salem with two goals and Chris Cook added a goal.

Jack Maxey had two assists for the Spartans and Hughes added an assist.
