Lord Botetourt clinched at least a tie for the Blue Ridge District title, as the Cavaliers claimed a tough 50-46 girls' basketball win over Staunton River Tuesday night in Daleville.
With the game tied at 24-all at the break, the Golden Eagles (11-8, 6-2 BRD) pulled out to a narrow 38-35 lead after three quarters of play. The Cavaliers (17-3, 8-0 BRD) went on a 15-8 run in the fourth quarter to stay perfect in district play with the four-point win.
Jodi Salyer paced Staunton River with 13 points and Shaniesha Robinson scored 10 points.
Meaghan Catron led Lord Botetourt with a game-high 17 points and Emily Wampler chipped in with 14 points.
