Northside used a strong third quarter to turn a two-point deficit into a 65-52 non-district girls' basketball win over host Blacksburg Monday night.
The Bruins (0-6), who led 29-27 at the half, saw the Vikings go on a 20-8 run in the third quarter to take the lead, 47-37. Northside continued to maintain its advantage in the fourth quarter to earn the 13-point win.
Melanie Mirzayan led Northside with a game-high 21 points and Taylor Carter chipped in with 10 points.
Jordan Ballein and Uwem Etuk paced Blacksburg with 12 points apiece.
