In a see-saw battle, Northside hung on for a 44-42 non-district boys' basketball win over Salem Tuesday night in Roanoke.

The Vikings (4-5), who led 26-23 at the half, saw the Spartans (7-4) take a narrow 33-32 after three quarters of play. Northside outscored Salem 12-9 in the fourth quarter to claim the tw0-point win at home.

Matt Hill and Tyler Treski led Salem with 11 points apiece.

Jarrien Hairston and Chance Hall paced Northside with a 14 points each.
