In Blue Ridge District football action, Porter Abell had a huge night in helping lead Rockbridge County to a 38-17 win over Staunton River Friday night in Lexington.

The Wildcats (5-1, 1-0 BRD), who led 28-17 at the half, held the Golden Eagles (2-4, 0-1 BRD) scoreless in the second half.

Abell led Rockbridge with 171 rushing yards and passed for 163 yards. Colton Wilson hauled in four passes for 104 yards and picked off two passes.
