In a wild one, Rockbridge County stopped Alleghany on a two point conversion play to pull out a thrilling 42-40 Blue Ridge District football win Friday night in Lexington.

The Wildcats (6-2, 2-1 BRD), who led 42-34 in the final minutes, saw the Mountaineers (3-5, 0-3 BRD) answer with an 11-yard TD pass from Nick Ferrell to Trent Rust to pull to witnin two, 42-40, with 27 seconds remaining. On the two-point conversion play, Rockbridge's Adam Doll-Hennis picked off the pass in the enc zone to preseve the Wildcats victory.

Nick Ferrell led Alleghany with a 26-for-33 evening for 245 yards and four touchdowns.

Porter Abell led Rockbridge with 238 rushing yards yards on 21 carries and four touchdowns. He laso completed 4-of-6 passes for 90 yards and another TD.
