Andrew Rowsey scored 31 points, as he help lead Rockbridge County to a 53-48 overtime win against Rustburg in the semifinals of the Region III, Div. 3 boys' basketball tournament Wednesday night at Brookville High School.
The Wildcats (23-2), who led 24-14 at the half, saw the Red Devils (17-7) go on a 20-8 run in the third quarter, as Rustburg took a slim 34-32 lead into the pivotal fourth quarter. The Red Devils maintained its lead, as they tied the game at 42-42 at the end of regulation. In OT, Rockbridge outscored Rustburg 11-6 to escape with the five-point win.
Rockbridge will play Waynesboro in the championship game at 7 p.m. Friday night at Brookville.
Marshall Wood led Rustburg with a game-high 48 points and 10 rebounds.
Javon Cress added 15 points for Rockbridge.
