The Golden Eagles flew out to an early lead and never looked back, as they downed the Minutemen 60-29 in non-district girls basketball action Monday night in Bedford.
Staunton River (11-1) raced out to a 20-3 lead after the opening eight minutes and increased its advantage to 35-9 at the half. The Golden Eagles would continue to control the game throughout the second half, as they pulled away for the lopsided 60-29 victory.
Brittany Robinson led Staunton River with a game-high 22 points and Jodi Salyer notched 15 points.
