William Byrd's boys tennis season ended somewhat anticlimactically on Wednesday, with the cancellation of its away match against Alleghany. 

The Terriers tried on Tuesday and Wednesday to make it to Low Moor, but poor weather turned them back both days.  The match will not be rescheduled. 

William Byrd concluded the season by winning eight straight matches to post an overall record of 10-5, 7-0 in the Blue Ridge District.  The Terriers clinched their second consecutive Blue Ridge District regular season title and remained undefeated (13-0) in regular season district play over the past two years. 

District tournament play starts Monday, May 17, 2010, at Alleghany.  Byrd will host a first round regional match on Monday, May 24, 2010.
