Staunton River opened up its 2010 season Monday evening with a 25-19, 25-19, 13-25, and 25-19 victory over visiting William Fleming in a non-district volleyball match.

Hannah Owens led the Golden Eagles (1-0) with six kills and four aces, Abby Moran had five kills and four aces, while Jewell McRoy tallied nine assists.
