The Terriers remained unbeaten in Blue Ridge District girls tennis play, as they took a 9-0 victory over Staunton River Tuesday evening in Vinton.
"Playing Staunton River we had a little change in our line up," said William Byrd head coach Amanda Stump. "Taylor Patterson was out with a stomach bug on Tuesday, so we decided to let her recoop and only play doubles vs River. Holly Thomas moved up a few notches to #3 and Tiffany Hodges moved back into singles play at #5. Both seemed unaffected by the moves as they had a good day of play."
Coach Stump went on to say, "I think Alleghany will be a real test for the girls, they are usually a pretty athletic group of girls who might make going 4-0 a little difficult. Our hope is to make our first round through the district undefeated but so far being 3-0 is definitly a great accomplishment."
