William Byrd's Brennan Escobar advanced to the singles quarterfinals, as well as to the doubles quarterfinals with teammate Sam Barrett during Region III boys tennis action Monday in Penn Laird.

Escobar, who defeated Ty Ashworth (Rockbridge) 6-1; 6-0 in the quarterfinals on Monday, will face Drew Meyerhoeffer of Harrisonburg in the semifinals this morning.

In the doubles quarterfinals, Sam Barrett and Escobar defeated Will Sowers/Wilson White (Robert E. Lee) 6-2. 7-6 (7-5).

The doubles semifinals will be played this afternoon.
