The Cave Spring swim team swept William Byrd Wednesday night in a dual meet. The Knights' girls won 92-78, while their boys’ team outscored the Terriers, 103-57.

First place finishes for the Terriers were the Girls' 200 Medley Relay (Kali Edsall, Annie Lane, Kacy Edsall, Mackenzie Lingle), Drew Vipperman in the 200 IM and the 100 Fly, Mackenzie Lingle in the 50 Free, Kali Edsall in the 100 Free, and Annie Lane in the 100 Breast.

"It was a tough loss. There were several really close races where 1st and 2nd were separated by tenths of a second," said William Byrd coach Krista Martin. "I was proud of our swimmers for really trying to get in there and race."

William Byrd's last regular season meet is next Wednesday against Rockbridge and Alleghany at home (Gator Aquatic Center). Meet starts at 8 p.m. and it will be senior night.
