William Byrd used a strong fourth quarter to defeat Northside 56-50 in Blue Ridge District girls' basketball action Friday night in Roanoke.

With the game tied at 25-all at the half, the Vikings (5-7, 1-2 BRD) pulled out to a 43-39 lead after three quarters. The Terriers (4-9, 2-1 BRD) outscored Northside 19-7 in the fourth quarter to come away with the six-point road win.

Maggie Self led William Byrd with 18 points.

Carla Anderson paced Northside with 13 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Melanie Mirzayan finished with 11 points.
