Staunton River held off a fourth quarter rally by William Byrd, to claim a 60-56 Blue Ridge District girls' basketball win Tuesday night in Vinton.
The Terriers (4-10, 2-2 BRD), who held a slim 27-25 halftime lead, saw the Golden Eagles (8-6, 3-1 BRD) come back in the third quarter to take a 41-37 heading into the fourth quarter. Staunton River would upped its advantage by 11 points in the final quarter, before William Byrd would rally back to cut the final deficit to 60-56, Golden Eagles.
Shaniesha Robinson led Staunton River with a game-high 22 points and Brie Holdren scored 12 points.
Camera Hagins paced William Byrd with 14 points. Alexis Ratliff tossed in 13 points and Maggie Self finished with 10 points.
