Three players scored in double-figures, as William Byrd claimed a 49-34 Blue Ridge District girls' basketball win over Alleghany Friday night in Vinton.

The Terriers (6-12, 4-3 BRD) ran out to a 26-13 halftime lead and continued to pull away in the second half to earn the 15-point victory.

Paige Irvin led Alleghany (5-14, 1-6 BRD) with nine points.

Maggie Shelf led Wm. Byrd with a game-high 20 points, while Alexis Ratliff and Kamera Hagins scored 12 points each.
