Brookville won its first-ever Big Orange title Saturday night, as the Bees bested second-place finisher Franklin County by 19 points in the 36^th Annual Big Orange Wrestling Classic held at William Byrd High School.

Brookville took the top spot with 202 1/2 points and Franklin County (183 1/2) was second. Grundy, the two-time defending champion finished third with 171 points, followed by Northside (141 1/2) and Cave Spring (119 1/2) to round out the Top 5 teams. A total of 18 teams competed in the two-day event.

Winning individual championships were Isaiah Foster (106 pounds, Franklin County), Landon Curry (113, Brookville), Chase McDaniel (120, Cave Spring), Troung Doung (126, Brookville), Justin Street (132, Grundy), Trey Smith (138, Grundy), Drew Brock (145, Franklin County), Justin Altice (152, Franklin County), Herman Jones (160, Martinsville), Tyler McClanahan (170, Grundy), Derek Thurman (182, Brookville), Freddie Williams (195, Martinsville), Victor Montalbano (220, Brookville) and Mike Jones (285, Lord Botetourt).

Second-place finishers included Austin Hurley (106, Grundy), Tim Yang (113, Hidden Valley), Sean Donnelly (120, Radford), Travis Hodges (126, Cave Spring), Luke Stewart (132, Brookville), Zach Hodges (138, Cave Spring), Josh Lancaster (145, Brookville), Andrew Saunders (152, Northside), Chris McDonough (160, Franklin County), Chris Tyree (170, Staunton River), Devin Smith (182, Salem), Add Siler (195, Rockbridge), Mason Maples (220, Franklin County) and Logan Turner (285, Cave Spring).

Will Ford of Patrick Henry was named the recipient of the Bob McLelland Award, while longtime official Don Shields was honored with the Roanoke Valley Wrestling Association's lifetime achievement award.
