In a see-saw affair, Bland County pulled out a 45-44 non-district girls basketball win over host Rural Retreat Thursday night.

Despite being outscored 32-23 in the second half, the Bears (1-1) managed to hang on for the victory.

Kelly Morris and Katie Tate led Bland County with 10 points each.

Jasmine Cressell led Rural Retreat (0-1) with 14 points. Bergandy Jones finished with 10 points, while Kala Patton recorded 11 rebounds.
