Fort Chiswell scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to turn a tie game at the half into a 42-21 Mountain Empire District win over Grayson County Friday night in Fort Chiswell.
With the game tied at 21-all at the break, the Pioneers (7-1, 3-0 MED) used a 12-yard run by Brett Mabry, a 4-yard scamper by Levi Mooney and a 12-yard jaunt by Corey Vaughan to pull away with the win.
Max Rodgers led Grayson County (6-2, 2-1 MED) with a 7-for-12 evening for 106 yards. He also rushed for 18 yards on nine carries and three touchdowns.
Corey Vaughan led Fort Chiswell with 179 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns. Brett Mabry completed 8-of-12 passes for 113 yards and a TD. He also rushed for 67 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns.
