Floyd County continues to struggle on the gridiron, as Fort Chiswell claimed a 30-12 non-district football win Friday night in Floyd.
The Pioneers (3-2) used a 24-yard run by Trey Jackson to take a 7-0 lead after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, a 96-yard scoring strike from Cory Mabry to Corey Gravely gave Fort Chiswell a 14-0 lead. The Buffaloes (1-4) came back with a 1-yard run by Gus Underwood to make it 14-6 at the half.
A 19-yard field goal by Gregory upped the Pioneers lead to 17-6. The Buffaloes cut their deficit to 17-12 on a one-yard run by Dorian Harris to end the third quarter.
A 41-yard pass from Mabry to Hamm and a 35-yard interception returned for a touchdown by Josh Thomas made the final 30-12, Fort Chiswell.
