Fort Chiswell took an early lead and never looked back, as the Pioneers blasted Rural Retreat 70-44 in non-district boy's basketball action Saturday night in Max Meadows.
The Pioneers (6-1) staked out to a 21-5 first quarter lead and increased their advantage to 35-12 at the half. Fort Chiswell continued to dominate in the second half, cruising to the 26-point win.
Sam Hadaway led Rural Retreat (1-4) with 18 points.
Cory Mabry led Fort Chiswell with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Corey Gravely tossed in a game-high 21 points and Nathaniel Worrell scored 17 points.
