Bailey Shumate and Allison White combined for 38 points, as the duo helped lead Galax to 51-32 non-district girls' basketball win over host Rural Retreat Thursday night.

The Maroon Tide (6-2) rolled out to a 29-19 halftime lead and continued to control the tempo throughout the second half in claiming the 51-32 road win.

Shumate and White finished with 19 points apiece for Galax.

Kala Patton led Rural Retreat (4-4) with 8 points.
