Galax jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, as the Maroon Tide rolled to a 69-33 Mountain Empire District girls' basketball win over visiting Bland County Wednesday night.

The Maroon Tide (18-3, 9-0 MED), who held a 33-19 advantage at the break, continued to dominate in the second half, as they claimed the lopsided 36-point victory.

Amber Eaton paced Bland County (12-8, 5-4 MED) with nine points.

Sydney Lyndsey led Galax with a game high 16 and Taylor Bryant chipped in with 14 points.
