Grayson County continued to be the team to beat in the Mountain Empire District, as they handed Narrows an 81-57 boys basketball loss Friday night in Independence.
The Green Wave (9-6, 2-2 MED) would take a slim 15-14 lead after the opening quarter. The Blue Devils (14-2, 3-0 MED) would start taking control of this one, as they outscored Narrows 19-6 in the second quarter, to take a 33-21 halftime lead. Grayson County would continue to control the tempo throughout the third quarter, as they headed into the final quarter with a 57-36 advantage. The Blue Devils would continue to run away in the fourth quarter, as they claimed the 81-57 victory.
Mark Martin led Narrows with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Alex Taylor contributed 12 points and Ryan Dunford notched 11 points.
Eric Harvey led Grayson County with a game-high 31 points and 12 rebounds. Tyler Rutherford had 14 points and Jake Blizzard added 12 points.
