Bland County's Jonathan Romano won the Mountain Empire District boys' singles title Thursday afternoon at Wytheville Community College with a convincing win over Alex Taylor of Narrows.

In the championship match, No. 1 seed Romano defeated No. 2 seed Taylor, 6-3, 6-0.

In the doubles championship, the No. 3 seeded team of Chris Caldwell and Ryan Williams of Galax upset top seeded, Hunter Sharp and Jared Smith of Fort Chiswell, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4
