Narrows started off Mountain Empire District play with a 25-22, 25-22 and 25-19 win over visiting Bland County Thursday night.

Savanna Burton led the Green Wave (6-1, 1-0 MED) with 14 kills, seven digs, three aces, one block and an assist. Lauren Kellison tallied 19 assists and one ace, while Sydney Fields added three kills, three aces and two digs.

Alyssa Harris led the Bears (0-1 MED) with five blocks, three kills and two aces, while Jessie Blessing recorded five kills and three aces.
