Galax remained atop the Mountain Empire District standings, as the Maroon Tide defeated host Narrows 19-25, 25-20, 26-24 and 25-18 in district action Thursday night.

Bailey Shumate led the Maroon Tide with 16 kills and seven assists. Allison White tallied nine kills and five blocks, while Grace Wilson added 15 assists.

Savanna Burton led the Green Wave with 21 kills and Lauren Kellison posted 28 assists.
