Galax needed a big fourth quarter, as the Maroon Tide remained unbeaten in Mountain Empire District girls' basketball action with a 44-40 win over host Narrows.

The Maroon Tide (12-3, 5-0 MED), who led 20-17 at the half, saw the Green Wave (4-9, 0-5 MED) come back in the third quarter to take a 29-25 lead into the pivotal fourth quarter. Galax outscored its hosts 19-12 in the final quarter to rally for the four-point road win.

Savannah Burton led Narrows with a game-high 20 points.

Bailey Shumate paced Galax with 15 points and Allison White finished with 13 points.
