The Patrick County boy's tennis team started its season with powerful 9-0 win over Grayson County Wednesday night in Stuart. The Cougars won three of its singles matches 8-0.
Starting off the winning singles matches was #1 Derrick Agee with an 8-5 win. Drew Cockram, Jarrod Arnder and Brian Pendleton won their matches 8-0. Tyler Scales won his #3 singles match 8-3, and newcomer Marcus Wood won his #6 match 8-6.
Agee/Cockram won #1 doubles 9-7 while Scales/Arnder won theirs 8-4. Pendleton/Wood dominated the #3 doubles match with an 8-0 win.
The Cougars travel to Grayson County Friday for a re-match at 4:30 p.m.

#1-Agee (P) over Bailey 8-5;
#2-Cockram (P) over Phipps 8-0;
#3-Scales (P) over Horton 8-3;
#4-Arnder (P) over Paluzzi 8-0;
#5-Pendleton (P) over Hollaway 8-0;
#6-Wood (P) over Keene 8-6.
Doubles:
#1-Agee/Cockram (P) over Bailey/Phipps 9-7;
#2-Scales/Arnder (P) over Horton/Paluzzi 8-4;
#3-Pendleton/Wood (P) over Halsey/Keene 8-0.
