With seven players having varsity experience returning, the Patrick County Cougars are hoping to win the Piedmont District Volleyball Crown in 2010.
Returning for the Cougars, who finished second in the PD and won the district tournament, are Deleigh Barbour (senior, MB), Christian Martin (senior, DS), Kristy Bowers (senior, OH), Kaylayna Cassady (senior, MB/RS), Ginna Williams (junior, S), Hannah Smith (junior, OH) and Hannah Helbert (soph.,OH).
"We have seven players with varsity experience," said head coach Heidi Moore, who is entering her fifth season at the helm for Patrick County.
New faces to the varsity program this season are Megan Mabery (soph., DS), Kendra Hall (soph., RS/S), Karleigh Wilkinson (fr., OH/MB) and Logan Martin (fr.,DS).
"All of our players are working hard and they push each other to be better," added Moore.
Patrick County opens its volleyball season on Monday, Aug. 23, when they host Westover Christian.a
