Patrick County claimed the Piedmont District volleyball tournament championship with a 25-17, 25-23 and 25-21 win over Bassett Wednesday night at Tunstall High School.

The Cougars (16-4) will host a first-round regional game on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Hannah Helbert led Patrick County with 18 kills and six aces. Tkeyah Hines had eight kills and five blocks, Ginna Williams tallied 20 assists and three aces, Beth Williams recorded 10 assists and three aces, while Logan Martin posted 17 digs.
