The Rockets earned their first Pioneer District win of the season, as they defeated the Rams 57-23 in girls basketball action Thursday night in New Castle.

Craig County (3-6, 1-2) took an early 15-5 lead after the opening quarter and increased its advantage to 29-14 at the half. The Rockets would continue to control the game throughout the season half, as they outscored the Rams, 28-9, to claim the lopsided 57-23 victory.

Holly Simmons led Highland County with 10 points.

Christine Surface paced Craig County with a game-high 24 points.
