The Rockets struck for four runs in the fifth inning, to turn a 2-0 deficit, into a 4-2 non-district softball win against the Spartans Thursday afternoon in New Castle.

Giles (0-1) would jump out to a 2-0 lead before Craig County (1-0) erupted for four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take control.

Megan Fisher paced Giles with two hits.

Shawna Huffman led the Rockets with three hits. Brittany Ratliff had two hits, both doubles, and Sarah Wood added a pair of hits.

Nicole Craft picked up the win inside the circle for Craig County with an 11 strike out performance.
