Craig County advanced to the semifinals of the Region C, Division 1 volleyball tournament, as they knocked off Narrows 22-25, 25-12, 25-22 and 25-16 in the opening round Monday night in New Castle.

Craig County (15-6) will play Galax at 6 p.m. Wednesday night in the semifinals at Eastern Montgomery High School.

Christine Surface led the Rockets with 20 assists, eight aces and five kills. Lordan Persinger had seven kills, Holly Broughman finished with five kills and Sarah Lipps added four kills and four aces.
