Craig County kept Narrows winless on the season, as the Rockets grounded the Green Wave 28-19 in non-district football action Saturday afternoon in New Castle.
The Rockets (2-1) struck first when Derek Persinger connected with Matt Bryant on a 4-yard pass to make it 7-0. The Green Wave (0-3) came right back and tied the game on a 27-yard scoring strike from Purdue to Jared Brown.
A 1-yard run by Joe Butler in the second quarter gave Narrows a 13-7 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, a 16-yard run by Codi Dunbar put Craig County back in front, 14-13. Narrows regained the lead, 19-13, on a 17-yard run by Butler. However, the lead was short-lived, as Persinger connected with Matt Ouellette on a 19-yard pass to give the Rockets a 21-19 advantage.
Craig County secured the win in the final 1:30 of the game when Ouellette intercepted a pass and raced 41 yards for the touchdown to make the final 28-19.
Wyatt Robertson led Narrows with 43 yards rushing on nine carries.
Codi Dunbar led Criag County with 106 yards rushing on 18 carries and a touchdown.
