Bath County sophomore sensation Jailyn Ford tossed a perfect game Friday evening, as the Chargers blanked Holston, 4-0, in the championship game of the Region C softball tournament at Damascus.
Ford, who tied a Virginia High School League record with three consecutive no-hitters earlier this season, struck out 13 batters en route to the victory.
The Chargers would score all four of their runs in the second inning, compliments of three Cavaliers (22-2) errors and a leadoff triple by catcher Amanda Shiflett.
Morgan Lowe, who allowed just two hits and struck out 16 batters, was tagged with the loss for Holston.
Bath County (20-3) will host a Group A quarterfinal contest on Tuesday, when they entertain Region D runner-up Virginia High, who lost 5-1 to Coeburn in 10 innings Friday.
