James River kicked its way into the Group A state girls' soccer semifinals, as the Knights rode past Gate City 3-0 in quarterfinal action Tuesday evening at Sugar Hollow in Bristol.

James River will play at 10 am. on Friday in the semifinals at Radford University.

After a scoreless first half, the Knights (14-2-1) Valentina Doninni off an assist made it 1-0.  Heather Reynolds then scored a pair of goals to make the final 3-0.

Goalie Brooke McDavid recorded nine saves for Gate City.

Yana Conrad tallied three saves for James River.
