Heather Cook's sixth inning triple drove in the winning run, as the Knights slip past the Highlanders, 1-0, in a non-district softball game Friday evening in Salem.

With the score knotted at 0-0, Cook would triple to drive home Dee Seeman in the top of the sixth inning to give James River (1-1) a 1-0 lead, which proved to be the game's lone run.

J. Simmons picked up the win inside the circle, as she gave up no runs on two hits and struck out eight batters.

Julie Helton was tagged with the loss for Glenvar (0-2), as allowed one run on four hits, walking none and striking out six.
