In a battle of county rivals, the Knights claimed a 6-1 non-district softball win over the Cavaliers Wednesday night in Buchanan.

Lord Botetourt (2-2) had three hits with Lindsay Cuba having the lone RBI.

Samantha Barton had five strike outs and gave of seven hits taking the loss on the mound for the Cavaliers.

Taylor Statome, Conner Sprinkle and Haley Shotwell led James River (2-2) with two hits apiece.

Haley Shotwell got the win on the mound for the Knights, striking out five and allowing three hits.
